You’ve heard of street photography? This was parking lot photography.
I know Joel Conner from the horsemanship world, where like my daughter and son-in-law here at Silver Spade Ranch, he’s a lifelong student of quality horsemanship. I love it when our paths cross. Short story: when he fell for Katie, so did the rest of us.
The sun was close to setting on this day, when I saw Joel & Katie walking slowly toward their horse trailer with their young son at a stock horse competition in Eugene, Oregon. There was just something about the picture they made that… I wanted to make a picture of that picture.
Joel wanted a picture with this truck, and who am I to argue with Joel’s vision?
He was right, right?
We walked to the edge of the parking lot to bring some greenery in & pulled Joel’s mom & sister into the frame:
Bentley had his own ideas about styling Dad:
These shots are all straight out of the camera, uncropped, unfiltered, unedited. Sometimes, that’s how I roll.
And you can see, this crew doesn’t need filters…
Thank you, Joel & Katie & family… You guys always bring out the smiles.
